When trying to enter the property the visitor will have to press a button on the intercom handset which will cause a ring to sound inside the building. It is possible to have a two way conversation with the visitor and if combined with an in-built video camera you can also see the person who is trying to gain access.
Once the identity of the visitor has been confirmed a button on the handset can be pressed to allow the caller entry in to the building.
Free entry for staff can be allowed through the use of a proximity card reader or keypad, without the need to use the intercom system.
This type of access control system is normally only used for applications requiring a low level of security.
